Through the implementation of a hundred oases across the Sahara, the Ouroboros Team wants to warn of the dangers of desertification. These belts run from East Africa to west from Ethiopia to Morocco.

The oasis will be a symbolic in two forms. The first is a route across borders to bring people together around the urgent problem of the desert. The second is a route since that encircles old Africa to protect her from the ecological problems, which threaten it.

Desertification is an almost irreversible process where degradation of vegetation, soil and water resources, of which man is partly responsible, takes place.

Increased need and demand resources have pushed people into inappropriate practices leading to a downward spiral of ecosystem, soil and water degradation.

Some of these practices are: an increase area of cultivated land, overgrazing, logging and inadequate irrigation.

Land degradation makes it inadequate for feeding populations, a phenomenon that already has enormous socio-economic movement of populations, famine and poverty.
