Israel Jaffa

A plastic Ouroboros

From October 2005 through june 2006, Ouroboros Team initiated a Project in Tel Aviv. With the help of the Sea Scouts Movement and the municipality in Tel Aviv, as well as sponsorship by plastic recycling society, artists Jean-Luc MEYER-Abbatucci and Hugo HEBREARD collected 350,000 plastic bottles.

In April 2006, a gigantic circular installation in the form of the Ouroboros measuring 250 meters in diameter was built in the port of Jaffa for international Earth Day. The Ouroboros is an antique symbol used by the artists to warn humanity of the dangers of irresponsible consumption, leading to irreversible environmental degradation.
